Goaltender John Curry and forward Chris Minard have been re-assigned to the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins of the American Hockey League. This is good news for the Pittsburgh Penguins as it means that Marc-Andre Fleury will be returning to the line-up. Mike Zigomanis will likely also be back. Both have been out due to injury.
Fleury has been out of action since November 17th when it was announced that he would be sitting out with an undisclosed injury. At the time the injury was considered "not a major injury" but Fleury missed almost a month of hockey. His last game was November 15th.
Mike Zigomanis left the a December 3rd game in New York with an undisclosed injury and has not played since. He will be a welcome return to the line-up as his face off ability is among the league's best.
It is not known if Fleury or Dany Sabourin will make the start against Philadelphia on Saturday night.
Unfortunately, the Penguins injuries continue. Maxime Talbot will not play on Saturday and is listed as day-to-day. Talbot has been off his game recently and hasn't been playing his usual high-energy style, so it is obvious that something was wrong. Eric Godard will likely take his place in the line-up.
