Game Preview: Pittsburgh Penguins @ Philadelphia Flyers

Game Time: 1:00pm/ET
From: Wachovia Center, Philadelphia, PA
Penguins Record: 16-9-4 (6th in Eastern Conference)
Flyers Record: 15-7-6 (5th in Eastern Conference)
Last Meeting:
November 13th, 2008 @ Pittsburgh (5-4 Pens [SO])

PITTSBURGH PENGUINS LINE COMBINATIONS:
Pascal Dupuis - Sidney Crosby - Miroslav Satan
Ruslan Fedotenko - Evgeni Malkin - Petr Sykora
Connor James - Jordan Staal - Matt Cooke
Jeff Taffe - Tim Wallace - Eric Godard

Brooks Opik - Rob Scuderi
Kris Letang - Mark Eaton
Phillipe Boucher - Alex Goligoski

NOTE: Maxime Talbot is listed as in the line-up on the Penguins official website, but was listed yesterday as day-to-day. Connor James has been called up from WBS so it looks like he will be filling Talbot's role.

PITTSBURGH PENGUINS PROBABLE GOALTENDER:
Dany Sabourin (6-5-2 / 2.20GAA / .921 SV%)

PHILADELPHIA FLYERS LINE COMBINATIONS:
Simon Gagne - Mike Richards - Mike Knuble
Scott Hartnell - Jeff Carter - Joffrey Lupul
Scottie Upshall - Glen Metropolit - Andreas Nodl
Riley Cote - Darroll Power - Arron Asham

Kimmo Timonen - Ossi Vaananen
Braydon Coburn - Andrew Alberts
Matt Carle * - Lasse Kukkonen

Matt Carle is likely for today's game, but is not 100% certain.

PHILADELPHIA FLYERS PROBABLE GOALTENDER:
Martin Biron (10-6-4 / 2.95GAA / .901 SV%)

PENGUINS LEADERS:
GOALS: Crosby (13)
ASSISTS: Malkin (36)
POINTS: Malkin (48)
+/-: Malkin (+16)

FLYERS LEADERS:
GOALS: Carter (20)
ASSISTS: Richards (20)
POINTS: Gagne (34)
+/-: Gagne (+17)

Both the Penguins and Flyers are coming off big games. The Pens defeated the Islander 9-2 on Thursday and the Flyers overcame a four goal third period deficit to defeat Carolina 6-5 in a shootout. Scott Hartnell had a hat trick for the Flyers.

Matt Carle will likely return to the Flyers line-up today.

Maxime Talbot is questionable for the game and it looks like Connor James will see his first NHL action this year. Marc-Andre Fleury will return to the line-up today, but it looks like Dany Sabourin will get the start. The Penguins third and four lines, along with their defense, have been decimated with injuries.

The game is in Philly, so it will be a rough one for the Penguins. It's also an afternoon game, which could lead to a slow start for both teams.

Prediction: 5-4 Penguins [SO]
