Here is your NHL News for November 9th on PenguinsExperience.com - A Pittsburgh Penguins Blog
The injury San Jose Sharks goaltender Evgeni Nabokov suffered on Thursday night is not thought to be serious. Nabokov was injured while making the final save in in a shootout victory against the St. Louis Blues. Nabokov is listed as day-to-day with a lower-body injury.
Also on the injury front, Atlanta Thrashers defenseman Mathieu Schneider missed Atlanta last game against the Islanders and he is expected to miss the team's two game road trip as well.
Carolina Hurricanes coach Pierre Laviolette is now the winningest American-born coach in NHL history. Carolina defeated Ottawa last night to give Laviolette his 240th career victory, one more than the former record holder John Tortorella.
The Hurricanes also placed rookie Brandon Sutter on injured reserve due to the concussion. Sutter was hit by Doug Weight more than a week ago and the hit caused a bit of controversy with the aforementioned American-born coach.
In trade news, the Philadelphia Flyers have traded Steve Eminger and Steve Downie to the Tampa Bay Lightning in exchange for defenseman Matt Carle. Tampa Bay got some toughness out of this trade, but it still seems pretty lopsided to me, unless Tampa is trying to free up cap space for some reason.
The Hockey Hall of Fame in Toronto has set up a Montreal Canadiens Centennial exhibit. The exhibit will be moved to Montreal in time for the All Star Game. More information is available here .
The Penguins play the Islanders in Long Island tonight. Sidney Crosby will be a game time decision .

Dude! Great site! PLEASE fix the colors or write in bolder lettering! You're killing my eyes. Other than that...Awesome blog, and regardless of the font style you got bookmarked.
Thanks a lot. I'm working on tweeking the layout and colors right now and I hope to find something that's easier to read.
Okay, I've made a change which I think is much better. Let me know what you think.
Thanks again for reading.
Better, but to the right where the Blog Archive is listed....same. Still....great work, which is the important thing!
