There are some minor signings to report today. The Dallas Stars have signed forward Mark Parish to a one year, $500,000 contract. Parish was bought out by the Wild at the end of last season. He made the NHL All Star game in 2002 and has 208 goals and 164 assists in his ten year career. Also, the Montreal Canadiens have signed last year's ECHL scoring champion David Desharnais to a two year, entry level contract.
Jasper's Rink reports that the Washington Capitals are going to Michel Therrien route and throwing all of their offensive power onto one line. Sergei Federov will center Alexander Ovechkin and Alexander Semin in one very powerful line. Do the Caps have enough depth to pull this off? The Capitals haven't had a regulation win since coming from behind to beat the Penguins on October 16th. They've had a shootout win against Nashville, an overtime win against Dallas, and five losses (one in OT and one in a shootout) since then.
Icethetics has some more pictures of the Penguins third jersey which, as I discussed yesterday, I really like. The Penguins official website now have some as well, including a shot of Iceburg in the new jersey which, for some reason, I really like.
Faceoff-Factor has a list of NHL injuries broken down by team. Looking at it gives you another reason to be happy you're not a Philadelphia Flyer.
The Penguins finally play tonight when they face the Oilers at Mellon Arena. Penguins Experience will have a game preview later today.
