Sidney Crosby scored three goals as the Pittsburgh Penguins defeated the New Jersey Devils 4-1 at Mellon Arena.
The Penguins played close a complete game. Their play suffered a bit in the third period and the traditional third period collapse seemed inevitable when the Devils scored to make it 3-1, but the Penguins regained their composure and Crosby ended the game by completing the hat trick on an Empty Netter.
